A member asked:

Ultrasound says: "16 mm small hemorrhagic cyst on right ovary with free anechogenic fluid near it. no follow-up necessary". does that mean it's not malignant or ovarian cancer? what made the doc say "no follow up necessary"? will it grow bigger?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It’s a solitary blood filled fluid cyst that requires no follow up because of its size, malignant ovarian cancer usually present as solid tumors, NOT fluid-filled cysts, would need a biopsy to determine carcinogenic potential
