TFCC is the "triangular fibro cartilege complex" which enables stabilized wrist function between radius/ulnar articulation with the carpals. A "distal radial effusion" is fluid at the end of the radius, suggestive of a tear in the TFCC. Ganglion cysts are small hernias of synovial membrane, and are not pathologically significant at "3.4 mm".

TFCC stands for triangular fibrocartilage complex that consists of a central cartilage disc and peripheral tendon and joint capsule components, Central tear usually occurs when the ulna pistons up through the central disc impinges on the triquetrum or lunate and causes a tear. This trauma would cause an effusion{swelling} in the radial ulnar joint. Typically treated arthroscopically.
