A member asked:

Severe knee pain 8 months after partial meniscectomy. new mri says consider lateral meniscocapular separation but no discrete tear, sprain /partial tear acl, joint effusion. what does this mean?? does this mean surgery again?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: You have internal derangement of the knee joint with fluid.buildup. The question is which finding is causing the severe pain and effusion--cartilage.or ligament pathology. Ligament injuries are often not.operated on and thus you may respond to corticosteroid injection, stem cell therapy, or physical therapy & pain and fluid collection may improve after a week or two. Orthopedic surgeon can advise.
