Not helpful : These numbers SUGGEST but don’t prove you had a recent herpes infection. 1:170 is a titer- how many times can you dilute plasma before you can’t find antibody anymore. 3.5 is an Index Value. Below 1.1 is negative, above 3.5 is positive. Beyond that, means nothing. No. “Gold Standard” is recovery of HSV DNA (generally by PCR). Bigger issue- why are you concerned? Check with a doctor
