You can: If you carry herpes with a positive igg, you can infect others, especially if you have active sores at the time. Negative igg would mean no past exposure.

Immunoglobulins: Igg means you have been exposed. Igm means recent infection. Herpes is a difficult virus because you can spread it with out having symptoms.
