Otitis media: She will need an examination or at the very least a telemedicine consult to determine if she has otitis media (middle ear infection). This condition can easily be treated with antibiotics and acetaminophen for pain.

Ear symptoms: I'm curious how you know the ear drum is reddened. This is a sign of a middle ear infection requiring a course of oral antibiotics. The ear drum can only be visualized by looking through an otoscope.
