A member asked:

My daughter 1yr old is under treatment for primary complex and she has been around old people who might have tb will her case worsen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Don't be afraid: The answer is 'no' - if she's on treatment for TB - she is actually 'protected' by that medicine. True, in the Phils there is a high burden of TB, but I would not worry unnecessarily. TB is usually contracted by prolonged, close quarter contact-- such as sleeping in a room with a coughing person. Sunlight and a nice breeze will prevent TB from being acquired -so if these are relatives, go outdoors
