Variable: After popping will shrink but may recur months to yrs later. Even some surgically excised may return after months

It can return: Ganglion cysts can either spontaneously decompress, be present and give only minimal grief to their owners (patient), cause TERRIBLE PAIN including motor/sensory issues depending on where they are and which nerves they are contacting, or cause no problems and just look and feel unsightly. but just as any cyst in the body- it can RETURN after some time; even after surgically removing.
