Depends for how long: Depending on the location of your ganglion cyst, it's possible that some sensory nerve branches may have been stretched, causing a temporary numbness. It is not a common occurrence, but it could happen. It should be temporary. You should discuss this issue with your surgeon.

Yes: It is okay as long as it is temporary. Oftentimes pressure is placed on a nerve to retract it away from thevcystvduring dissection. This pressure can result in numbness that often resolves within 2-3 months. If numbness lasts longer ask your surgeon.
