Now Pray.: The dent is formed by the residual thickened walls of the ganglion that is now deflated. The question now is just how long, hopefully forever, the ganglion will stay deflated. In time, with a little luck, the tissue will return to normal and no more ganglion. It could happen.

Probably: The ganglion cyst is caused by synovial fluid that has been pushed out of the joint below. If that fluid has been removed or if the cyst was injected with a steroid, then the fluid is no longer present and may leave an indentation where the cyst was once located. This is a good thing, because the less fluid remaining, the less likely this is to reoccur.
