Is intermittent rlq pain common in ibs? this does not feel like typical ibs pains for me. has been ongoing intermittently for 6-8 months. no associated nausea, vomiting, fevers. no change in bowels. no modifying factors. negative obgyn & colonoscopy?

Gastroenterologist: Patients with IBS can have various types of abdominal discomfort along with bowel symptoms. Persistent RLQ discomfort intermittently for months could be from inflammatory bowel disease like regional enteritis or Crohn's disease or right sided diverticular disease. A gastroenterologist is best to evaluate you and order appropriate testing such as fecal calprotectin level, & possible colonoscopy
