A member asked:

Low stomach pain possibly bowel issues! i have ibs. dr couldn't do colonoscopy due to a narrowing so i had barium enama instead. no cancer so nothing?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Maybe diverticulosis: If they were unable to get through for a colonoscopy, it could be diverticular disease (this should have been in your barium enema report if true, so ask you doctor. If so, that can cause discomfort. So can constipation, which may be related to the narrowing. Increase fiber and fluids. Acacia fiber is better tolerated in ibs than other fibers, can be ordered online if not available near you.
