Lately ive been having calf pain. feels like a sore pain that i sometimes feel when i walk and its a bit tender . no other symptoms. im 18 years old and scared it might be dvt. thoughts ? i got an ultrasound, is it possible it missed deep clots?

Probably not: DVT symptoms include calf pain, unilateral swelling, redness, warmth and a heavy achy feeling. Ultrasound is the most common diagnostic tool, but the dr can also order a d-dimer or a venogram. In a healthy 18 yo person, unless there is a family history or trauma, a negative ultrasound is very reliable. Other explanations for the pain include muscle injury/overuse, tendon inflammation, infection
