Possibly: An ultrasound is needed to evaluate for dvt, especially if there is swelling. More common however is venous insufficiency. Ultrasound will help evaluate this as well.

CALF PAIN AND DVT: Although it is true that calf pain can be a sign of DVT, not all DVT has calf pain and not all calf pain is due to DVT. There are a multitude of causes of calf pain. Two simple tests that would help to rule out DVT would be a d-dimer and a venous ultrasound. See a vein specialist.
