Would MRI without contrast find DVT? I've had back of knee and calf pain. D-dimer and ultrasound came back normal, but veins in feet&leg are bulging.

Why would a D Dimer test show a false negative result for clotting? To double check I had an ultrasound that did show DVT on posterior of knee, healthy young male with no known reason for clotting.
