A member asked:

Can't we just tie bandanas over our face and proceed with normal life in this covid mess?

No: Face masks are helpful in preventing the spread of Covid (ie, you giving it to someone else) It is not effective in preventing you from catching it. N95 masks, which are in short supply and should only be used in the hospital, helps prevent the wearer from catching the virus. In an ideal world, it would be great if everyone could have one

Not sufficient: A bandana can HELP to protect other people from your respiratory germs. However, it is quite imperfect at that. It gives you very little protection. Social Distancing is still necessary.
