Cloth is fine: A cloth mask or face covering is fine for outdoor exercise. I have hand sewn quite a few for friends and family. I think it is pretty essential to have one with a nose bridge if it is to stay on properly during exercise. I also recommend using one with elastic that fits around the whole head (top of head and back of neck) to prevent slippage. One that has ties is more likely to get undone.

Cloth masks are no longer recommended for protection from COVID-19.Wear a well fitting KN95 or N95 or medical grade surgical mask when in crowds and with people whose vaccination status is unknown.However, most outdoor exercise does not require a face covering; you are best off distancing from those around you if possible. The risk of transmission is generally lower outdoors.
