Asymmetric prostate: Appears to be a rather benign variant with no clear correlation with prostate cancer. The presence of a nodule is believed to be associated with a higher risk for cancer. Best would be to discuss findings with your PCP and see if establishing with an urologist for surveillance would be appropriate.

As a 54 year old male I've never had a prostate exam, is it sufficient to just have a PSA test, or is it advisable to have a physical exam? (My father had prostate cancer.) Also, is it advisable to have a colonoscopy? What are my next steps? Thanks?
