Doctor to evaluate: Rashes are difficult to describe in words. A rash may be eczema, an allergic reaction, an infection, etc. Itchy rashes usually are eczema or relate to some sort of allergic reaction. Bluish or purplish spots may be blood spots and may need blood tests right away. Sometimes, spots have unknown causes. A primary care doctor or dermatologist can examine the rash and the patient in order to diagnose.
