Basics: If he can bite/chew without pain or any sense of the teeth being out of line this is likely nothing serious. If the episode scuffed the jaw bone it can develop a blood collection/bruise under the skin that would eventually turn purple, or the bone could develop a transient (months) bump that is a bone reaction. If it doesn't bother him I would just monitor it.
