A member asked:

Had enlarged node in neck for 1 year now. no symptoms, and ultrasound 6 months ago was normal. it has def shrunk over the year. could it still be cancer? or would it have gotten bigger instead of smaller. is a year long enough to rule out cancer

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Missing data: Location, size, character during exam & other factors determine a nodes importance. Here you list a vague location, no relative size, then/now & other important data that would allow a reasoned response.Only a node biopsy can rule out cancer. The need for or against doing one would be determined by other factors. It is good you don't feel sick but this is something to discuss with your treating doc
