Ultrasound showed vascular nodule (9 x 4 x 4 mm) in postoperative thyroid bed. thyroidectomy 6 1/2 years ago (suspected cancer was neg. ) and now elevated thyroglobulin antibodies 332 (range 0 - 6) and tpo ab 24 (range 0 - 5). should i be concerned?

Your nodule is small & without microcalcification and statistically is going to be benign. The issue is following with ultrasound periodically vs a fine needle biopsy. In cases like yours,I favor being advised& followed by a head and neck surgeon along with the endocrinologist who will advise you about possible Hashimoto's thyroiditis or hypothyroidism.

Total thyroidectomy was NOT cancer. 3 years later ultra sound now says 6mm hypoechoic nodule may be residual thyroid vs benign appearing lymph node.
