Have had enlarged 1cm node in cervical region of neck for a year. had us 6 months ago and it was normal. node is still there, could it start growing after a year or is cancer ruled out by now?

Surveillance/biopsy: The best diagnostic method to rule out an infectious/tumor disease in the node would be a biopsy. You should consult your treating physician to do so in case of other symptoms such as enlargement of the node, extreme or undesired weight loss, nocturnal fever, fatigue, or the appearance of more nodes.
