CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt) is an effective treatment for panic attacks that invokes teaching clients the relationship between thoughts, feelings, physiological response, and avoidance behaviors. Clients engage in "graduated exposure" exercises to situations that cause panic as well as the sensations themselves. Search your local psychological association for a cbt specialist.
