A member asked:

Is it normal to still have to be frequently after having a uti and taking all the antibotics the doctor told me to take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Frequency: To be sure the UTI was cleared, a follow-up urine culture would be needed. If it is negative and you still have urinary frequency, especially in small amounts, you have an overactive bladder. If you void large amounts of urine frequently it could be from excess fluid intake, medications, caffeine, certain kidney or glandular abnormalities. A urologist could evaluate you and order appropriate tests.
