Yes, this is one: of the most common ways that the herpes cold sore virus, typically herpes simplex virus Type 1, is spread from person to person. So, yes, you may get infected. You needed to take the precautions (NOT kissing) before you kissed! There is no medication that can stop the infectious process. If you start to have the first symptoms..tingling before a sore breaks out..see your doctor for antiviral med.
