See reply to your previous question. Since you have had longstanding recurrent oral herpes, there's a good chance your husband and kids already are infected, whether or not they have symptoms. They should see the family doctor if or when any start to develop symptoms, but there's no other practical way to know. Happily, most cases are mild; and when more severe, can be effectively treated.
