I had a cold sore on the upside of my upper lip 3-4 weeks ago. it was a big sore, it has healed but left a pinkish mark on the area. i have touched on a new born hairy head with my lips very gently, didnt kiss. is it possible that i passed herpes?

If you do not have open lesion nor any lesion on the baby's head you could not have transmitted herpes; however it is best not to kiss any baby on the lips because absence of open lesion does not mean that herpes could not be transferred. If you are the mother and it is a newborn, I would say to have prompt evaluation and tell doctor if any fever or rash on the baby.
