If lymph nodes in the neck need to be biopsied then is this typically done under a local anaesthetic in a ent specialist's rooms or in a hospital under a general anaesthetic?

Specializes in Anesthesiology

Each Case Evaluated: depending on the location, size or node, need for frozen section, patient cooperation and skill of the ENT surgeon doing surgery with local, the biopsy could take place in an office or in a hospital, in either location it could be done with local or in a hospital it might be local and sedation or general anesthesia with or without a breathing tube

Biopsy under Local: Typically Biopsy of the lymph nodes can easily be done under local anesthesia in an office setting.
