Just joined diet bet- i gotta lose 4% body weight in 1month (for me that's about 5 lbs).but i do a lot of daily resistance+mat exercises to build muscle.how do i continue with these w/o gaining too much muscle mass for a month?or is that impossible

Can be done: If a person eats 500 daily calories LESS, than she has been eating to maintain her stable but undesired weight in the recent past, and if she continues her typical light exercise routine, she should notice a 1 pound drop in weight each week and should gradually approach her lower desired weight.
