Neither one. Both: notorious for measurement errors due to angulation of view & limited imaging windows, varying person to person & skill of echo tech. Best always get all images & video, study yourself. M-Mode=display of single dimension (distance from probe) vs. time. 2-D=two dimensional display of anatomy (vs. time if recorded as video).
