Try alternatives : Alprazolam is highly addictive and is not an effective treatment for insomnia. One will need higher and higher dose for it to be effective as time goes by due tolerance to dose. There are other alternatives available, discuss it with your psychiatrist. At age 20 years, you need a thorough work up for the cause of insomnia.
