Been having LUQ pain for over year. Labs say elevated lipase but pancreatitis unlikely ( symptoms don't fit). GI thinking pancreas or muscular. Ideas?
Just went to the hospital because I thought I had the stomach flu. Doc agreed but blood work came back and had very high lipase (242 U/L), doc said its not pancreatis because I dont have the symptoms like pain, liver also high. What can it be??
Blood test showed lipase levels slightly elevated. All else normal. What could cause the elevated result? Was told its not enough to indicate pancreatitis. Had blood in stool a month ago and ongoing left and right side abdominal/chest/back pain?
I have pancreatitis and in great pain. clear liquid diet for three days. No relief. Doc says lipase is normal. Why do I hurt?
Nausea for 1.5mo, doc ordered serum amylase (normal at 40 U/L) & lipase, which was borderline low at 11 U/L (8-78 U/L reference range). Suggestive of chronic pancreatitis? Info online unclear about significance of borderline low lipase. Thanks?
