Nerve damage: After pancreatitis, you can end up with a permanent pain syndrome due to damage to the nerve plexus ("solar plexus") near the pancreas, long after the pancreatitis itself heals. It's often brutal and I hope that it can be addressed. There's a new procedure to destroy the pain fibers here using an instrument passed through the stomach.
