I am experiencing left side abdominal pain, sometimes passing gas . the pain feels pinching and happens mostly with sudden movement.

Quite a few things: to consider. My first thought might actually be a stone in the left kidney or ureter which can cause sudden pain often also in the flank/mid-back. I believe gastrointestinal or musculoskeletal causes would be possible but less likely. Please consult your doctor: carefully physical exam, imaging and urine tests might be most helpful.
