Irritable bowel syndrome usually doesn't awaken one. I'm concerned about mechanical problems like hernia, adhesions if you've had previous abdominal surgery, partial interssusception,or vovulus if the cramps are very severe and recur. I recommend consulting a gastroenterologist o abdominal surgeon.
