CO2 contrast: Understand you are asking about CO2 angiography as an alternate to contrast dye-angiography. It is reported to result in images that are somewhat lower in quality. Patency demonstrated via CO2 angiogram would not need to be confirmed with dye - the reason to use CO2 is lost if it is followed by infusion of dye!
