A member asked:

I had a blood test done and it said my co2 level was 27, should i worry, could this confirm that my one exposure may be giving me silicosis? help!!!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bicarb: Phillip, interpreting blood tests is always trick and can only be done while accounting for a multitude of factors. Co2 level as reported on basic metabolic panel is actually indicative of your bicarb levels - 27 is a totally normal number and not diagnostic of silicosis :)
