Instead of dye: Most commonly angiograms are done with iodinated contrast material but co@ can be used instead. The images are not as good but it avoids allergic reatctions and toxicity to the kidneys.

Another contrast: Co2 gas is used as the contrast agent rather than iodinated dye. It is usually reserved for people with allergic history to iodinated dye or poor renal function. This agent cannot be used in all blood vessels. It is a good agent when indicated but should only be used by a trained specialist familiar with the use of this material.
