Don't press on it!: This is like the old joke, Dr it hurts when I do this. Dr.: Don't do it! I'm not clear what you are asking. Did you have a lipoma surgically removed? It is normal for a wound to hurt after surgery so really, don't press on it! You do not say when the surgery was. If more than a few months ago the wound should not still hurt, so I would go back to the doctor who did the surgery to re-evaluate.

Followup: If you are having pain after resection of a lipoma, I would recommend you followup with your surgeon and let them know. It could be just normal postoperative healing, scar tissue, etc., but you would want to be seen just to make sure it is not a peri operative complication.

Normal: That's normal. Watch for any excessive redness that's getting worse or fevers or pus from the wound.
