Not true : I would only remove the larger ones or those causing pain. You probably have a propensity to form them. They will not grow faster if you remove them but you likely will always grow more.

Surgery probably: Likely you have lipomatosis- a condition with many lipomas occurring in the body, often running in families. Unfortunately, surgery remains the only effective treatment. If it is excised completely, it treats the lipoma but does not prevent new ones from forming. The surgery does not cause those removed to grow faster, but the remaining ones will obviously continue growth unless also removed.
