Look again: One should look at the results again. A herpes IgM reference value should be "less than a number" and look something like <1.0 or look like <1:1. The number depends on the lab. If the test result is less than the reference value, then the result means NEGATIVE or no recent infection suspected. The reference value should not be two numbers separated by a dash, so should not look like 0.4-2.4 gm/l.
