Can a wheezing sound come from the throat instead of lungs? i have silent reflux and i hear a little wheeze if i take deep or quick breathes after eat

Wheezing is a: whistling sound that occurs during breathing when airways are narrowed. Acid reflux may cause or contribute to bronchospasm either from direct irritation by acid or by triggering cough and other reflexes. So I do think your wheezing could be due to GERD. Or GERD could be a contributor. Work with your doctor to optimally treat GERD and make sure you don't also have asthma. Stay well:)

Throat sounds: Yes. Studious sounds may sound exactly like wheezing/whistling. Upper airway can certainly get inflamed with reflux. A laryngopharyngeal reflux is known to cause cough and sometimes wheezing. Discuss with ur doctor and consider consulting with Pulmonologist and/or ENT. Good luck.

Yes, larynx: The upper part of your airway can make wheezing noises, if this is bothersome, see an ENT, but is no reason by itself to worry, can be associated with upper respiratory congestion
