Is it still asthma if theres no wheezing & coughing but shortness of breath & chest tightness? around my neck & chest has felt very tight for days even tho i was told my lungs sound clear. ekg normal. been on prednisone for 4 days & using inhaler?

Your lungs must be relaxed enough for asthmatic wheezing to be evident. You can be 'tight' to the point an albuterol inhaler does not reverse the spasm enough for you to wheeze. See your regular doc and have lung function tests to sort out why you are still SOB.

Have you had Flu and COVID 19 screening? Are there any other symptoms such as fever, chills or nausea? If so, testing for infection is recommended. The findings may or may not be related to asthma. I agree that Pulmonary testing is often helpful, decrease anxiety which can cause these symptoms. Cardiac disease should be definitively ruled out. Watch for signs of dizziness.
