See your doctor!: This is not ok. If you are wheezing and coughing up mucus, you may have chronic asthma, which if left untreated, can be life-threatening. Of course, there are many other possible causes for the cough, especially if you have smoked, and you need an evaluation and possible chest x-ray as soon as possible.
