In general, no: You said that you had medical insturance, not dental insurance. There are dental insurance plans in the US but if you read them carefully you will quickly recognize that they are not really insurance plans. They will pay up to (say) $4000 for your root canal work and then you find out that the Dentist is charging you $9000 to do it. Some insurance! Caveat Emptor!
