Brace important: Most braces are made to be not visible; your teenager may likely be able to wear it under his clothes, and no one would no the difference, the only thing that people will notice, is an improved posture. And that may elicit comments from people.

Be a parent: Be a parent first and a friend second. Your teen doesn't have the education or the life experiences to make this decision, that's why he has parents and drs. Ask the physician to explain to your child what the treatment is for and why he needs it. Your child doesn't get to decide yes or no, that's your decision. Ask his teachers and the school nurse to monitor him when you're not there.
