Had a small umbilical hernia repair (no mesh) done a month ago. the lump above my belly button is still kind of squishy, like it was pre-surgery.

You should have: your surgeon take a look at it, if you are concerned about your post op status. Sometime, especially in men, a condition called diastasis can mimic hernia recurrence.
