Temp crown Comfort: Good afternoon; Initially contact dentist who inserted temporary. Tooth may have pulpal issues( require root canal therapy). The occlusion may need adjustment. Try a dose of ibuprofen, if your still uncomfortable after analgesic wears off, contact your DDS.

Yes/no: yes, if it is high in your bite and it need adjustment No, if it is not in your bite (ie you don't use it to chew with or it does not have an opposing tooth to hit) then that is an issue. temp crown can last 1-2 week and some time much longer (6mo-yrs) depending on the material that it is made of.
