Itching: Where the crown is ? I would consider calling the dentist if it continues and makes her unhappy. Otherwise i would gently rub over the area with a wash cloth to gently scratch it. Nothing harsh so you do not create more irritation.

See your dentist: Sometimes the cement for the temporary crown can irritate the gums. She can also be developing an allergic reaction. See your dentist.
